Title:
MIXTURE OF BISPHENOL AND GRAFT POLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0391554
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a powdery mixture excellent in storage stability and dispersibility and useful as impact resistance, aging stability or a processing stability modifier by mixing a resin forming monomer with a graft polymer grafted on rubber and a bisphenol.

CONSTITUTION: A resin forming monomer (e.g.; styrene, methyl acrylate) is polymerized in the presence of a rubber to produce a graft polymer wherein the resin forming monomer is grafted on rubber. Subsequently, the obtained graft polymer and a bisphenol (e.g.; formulae I, II) are mixed to produce a powdery mixture. A proper mixing ratio is set so that the graft polymer is 1-99 wt.% and the bisphenol is 99-1 wt.%. The obtained powdery mixture is used as an impact strength modifier of a thermoplastic plastic and also suitably used as a component for producing a thermosetting plastic.
