To provide a mobile communication equipment and a communication system capable of 2-way communication in which power consumption is reduced.
A mobile communication terminal equipment used in the mobile communication system consisting of a wide area base station forming a wide radio area, a plurality of cell base stations forming cells, and a control station controlling the wide area base station and a plurality of the cell base stations has a wide area reception section 202 operated at comparatively low power and receives a radio signal from the wide area base station and transmission reception sections 205, 206 for a 2-way communication station with a nearby cell base station. The wide area reception section 202 is always activated and when it is discriminated that the reception of the radio signal from the wide area base station is disable, the transmission reception sections 205, 206 make position registration to the nearby cell base station and the reception section 205 intermittently receives a radio signal from the nearby cell base station. The control station of the system selects a data communication channel from the wide area base station to the nearby cell base station whose position is registered in the case that the mobile communication terminal equipment sets up connection with the nearby cell base station.
