When a reception section (Rx) 4 of a mobile communication terminal having both analog system and digital system functions receives a message serving the digital system from the base station searches the digital system under the control of a control section 1 when an RSSI(received signal strength indicator) of a received wave of the analog system from the base station is a prescribed level or over or keeps a standby state in the analog system when the RSSI is the prescribed level or below. Thus, the occurrence of a disabled call reception in the mobile communication unit can be avoided without processing between both the analog system and the digital system.
