Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a marking function for a character string included in a figure added as an explanation information in an electronic dictionary device.SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary device has, not only a marking function in which any word, e.g. "eyelashes", included in an explanation figure G2 is marked with a marker Mp1 of any color (e.g. blue) and registered as a marked word, but also a marking function in which, when the marked word "eyelashes" in the same figure is specified as a headword to jump to and display an explanation information G1 linked therefrom, the headword "eyelashes" included in the explanation information G1 is also marked with a marker Me1 of the same color (blue) and automatically registered as a marked word. In an explanation information G1 being jumped to and displayed upon linking from any word, e.g. "eyebrow", included in the explanation figure G2, in the case where the headword "eyebrow" of the same character string as the original word in the link source is marked with a marker Me2 of any color (e.g. red) and registered as a marked word, the word "eyebrow" included in the explanation figure G2, a link source, is also marked with a marker Mp2 of the same color (red) and automatically registered as a marked word.
