PURPOSE: To obtain a pickup having a high output sensitivity and high SN ratio, by decreasing the effective mass of the vibrator.
CONSTITUTION: Mobile iron bar 3 attached to the other end of cantilever 2 having stylus tip 1 at the tip part is supported in the free rotatable way around fulcrum P by damper 4 which is held within sleeve 10. The other end of bar 3 is approximated to magnetic poles 5 and 5', and the both ends of permanent magnet 7 oppose to yoke 6 and the tip part of bar 3 each. The magnetic material, which has a comparatively high saturation magnetic flux density to the DC magnetic flux and works at the rectilinear part of the magnetized curve to the piled alternating magnetic flux, is used for poles 5 and 5' as well as yoke 6. At the same time, the slender rod materials are used for poles 5 and 5' along with reduction of the winding diametrs of coils 8 and 8'. Thus the gap can be reduced between stylus tip 1 and the bottom surface of the cartridge to decrease the length of cantilever 2. As a result, the effective mass of the oscillator can be extremely reduced.
