Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent engine stalling by braking during deceleration in the idling condition.
CONSTITUTION: A lock-up clutch 4 to selectively connect a driving side member 2 in a fluid coupling 1 to a driven side member 3 is provided, and the lock-up clutch 4 is slip-controlled when the number of revolution of the driven side member 3 is above the prescribed lower limit value. A slip number of revolution detecting means 5 to detect the slip number of revolution during the slip control of the lock-up clutch 4 during the deceleration and a slip release number of revolution setting means 6 to set the value of the lower limit number of revolution to the higher number of revolution than that when the slip number of revolution is larger in the case when the detected slip number of revolution is small are provided.
