To provide a mobile robot device and mobile robot control method accurately and rapidly changing the control condition of a mobile robot in response to environmental change such as floor material and width of a passage where the mobile robot moves.
The mobile robot device comprises a first storing means for dividing the region where the mobile robot device moves into a plurality of areas and storing map information corresponding to each of the plurality of areas, a position detecting means for detecting the current position area of the mobile robot device, a first controlling means for reading the map information on the current position area from the first storing means according to the movement of the mobile robot, a second storing means for temporarily storing the read map information, and a second controlling means for controlling the movement of the mobile robot device based on the map information on the current position area stored by the second storing means.
