PURPOSE: To allow the user to leave his automobile with ease by allowing an absence mode automatic setting means to set an automatic answering telephone function able to receive an incoming call when the user leaves his automobile.

CONSTITUTION: When the user takes out a key and locks a door of his automobile at his leaving thereof, a sensor 5 detects it and an absence mode setting section 6 sets the absence mode automatically. In this case, a message of 'the absence mode is set' is outputted from a 2nd message output section 10 to the user and a communication control section 2 acts like an absence incoming call reception means. When a call comes in the absence mode, the control section 2 is connected to a line and a message of 'unfortunately--is not in the car' is outputted from a 1st message output section 7 and it is noticed that the mode is set in the automatic answering mode. When a message is given, the message is stored in a message storage section 8 via the control section 2. The user calls and hear the message at the return to his automobile.
