To provide a portable terminal and an information management method simultaneously satisfying convenience and safety of information contrary to each other, and automatically deciding either a storage position where the convenience of information is regarded as significant and a storage position where the safety of information is regarded as significant according to the current location of a user, and achieving the management of the transfer of information which is the most optimal to the current location of the user.

When it is detected that a browsing terminal 1 is connected to a cradle 101, display information 601 stored in a memory card 6 is transferred to a first storage part 41 or a second storage part 42 based on the current location of a user. That is, when it is determined that user location information 1104 is not matched with previous user location information, storage position showing which of the first storage part 41 and the second storage part 42 should be made to store the display information stored in the memory card 6 is decided based on the changed user location information. The display information is transferred to and stored into the storage part shown by the decided storage position.
