Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal that can read aloud prescribed information such as the text of a mail or a browser with excellent user-friendliness for aged people whose power of vision is deteriorated or when a user cannot view the screen of the information terminal.
SOLUTION: A DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 3a uses a downloaded sound read program to read aloud a text message. A sound source LSI 9 incorporating an ADPCM function uses a registered vocabulary to output sound in reading aloud a key numeral when the key is operated. The DSP 3a uses a downloaded voice CODEC program to act like a voice CODEC in the case of making a speech. Thus, the mobile phone of this invention includes the DSP having a read aloud function and a voice CODEC function.
