Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the automatic mode changeover device and its method by analyzing a level of a sound around an installed location in the communication system operated in many kinds of modes. SOLUTION: When the automatic mode is selected by an entry section 15, a control section 16 provides an output of a control signal CTS to enter the automatic mode. A switch 12 is closed by the control signal CTS and an output of a microphone 11 detecting a surrounding sound and providing an output of a surrounding sound signal is amplified by an amplifier 13 and an A/D converter 14 converts the signal into digital data. The surrounding sound level obtained by the digital conversion is compared with a reference level by the control section 16 and when the time of the surrounding sound level below the reference level exceeds a reference time, the automatic reply (automatic answering) mode is selected in the case of, e.g. a telephone set.
