Abstract:
PURPOSE: The gain of a basic mode is effectively used and stable oscillation is accomplished by making the thickness of an active layer close to both cleavage faces thicker than the central portion and making the gain distribution of said layer in the direction perpendicular to a junction face larger at the centeral part and smaller at the periphery.
