To provide a MODEM cable housing mechanism of a note type personal computer in which an MODEM cable can be incorporated in a note type personal computer, and the MODEM cable can be pulled out and easily connected with a telephone line.

One end of an MODEM cable 5 is connected with an MODEM circuit 2, and the other end is connected with a modular jack 6. The MODEM cable 5 is connected through a pulley 4 rotating for smoothly moving the MO DEM cable 5, and the pulley 4 is guided by a rail 3, and automatically retracted by a spring 10. Also, a stopper 9 is provided for preventing the MODEM cable 5 from being carelessly pulled back when the MODEM cable 5 is completely pulled out, and the stopper 9 is incorporated in a note type personal computer by an MODEM cable housing mechanism which is released by a switch 8. Thus, it is possible to prevent the trouble of unavailability due to the forgetfulness of the carriage of the MODEM cable outside by incorporating the MODEM cable in this note type personal computer.
