Abstract:
Depithed bagasse pulp which has been derived from bagasse which has been cooked in an alkaline cooking liquor is treated with an alkaline treating liquor having a hydroxyl ion concentration of from 5 to 50 grams per liter at a temperature of from 0 DEG to 100 DEG C to form a modified bagasse pulp suitable for the manufacture of facial tissues.
