Title:
MODIFIED CELLULOSE ETHER FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004155805
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a modified cellulose ether film which can be easily handled in use and can be dissolved or decomposed after use by temporarily insolubilizing a cellulose ether film to impart water resistance thereto.

The modified cellulose ether film is obtained by treating a water-soluble cellulose ether film with a silane to render the treated surface temporarily water resistant. The water resistance of a water-soluble cellulose ether film can be improved by treating it with a silane. The modified cellulose ether film can be rapidly dissolved or decomposed by adjusting the pH of water used. By treating only one side of the film with a silane to temporarily insolubilize the side, water resistance can be revealed on the side. By bringing the untreated side into contact with water, the cellulose ether film can be easily dissolved or decomposed even with a neutral water.
