Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a modified cellulose fine fiber having uniform nanosize, high in crystallinity, less in damage of fiber shapes, large in aspect ratio and large in water absorption simply at good efficiency without mechanically crushing the same.SOLUTION: A modified cellulose fine fiber is manufactured via a modification fibrillating process for penetrating a reactive fibrillating liquid containing a catalyst containing a basic catalyst or an acid catalyst and dibasic carboxylic acid anhydride into cellulose, esterifying the cellulose and chemically fibrillate the same to obtain a carboxyl group-containing cellulose fine fiber and a stirring process for stirring the obtained carboxyl group-containing cellulose fine fiber and a dispersant at a rotation speed of 2000 rpm or more to obtain a carboxyl group-containing cellulose fine fiber. The catalyst may be pyridines. The reactive fibrillating liquid may contain an aprotic solvent with donor number of 25 or more. The dibasic carboxylic acid anhydride may be aliphatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride.SELECTED DRAWING: None
