Abstract:
To provide a (meth)acrylate cellulose and a graft polymer cellulose being the grafted product in which the graft copolymerization reaction of a polymerizable compound for a cellulose which had been difficult conventionally can be performed smoothly and economically and to provide a method for producing them.
The cellulose is subjected to alkali substitution with an alkali aqueous solution having 0.1-100 equivalents for its glucose ring unit and reacted with a (meth)acrylic halide in an organic solvent to convert to the (meth) acrylate cellulose. The polymerizable compound is subjected to the addition polymerization.
