To provide a modified conjugated diene-based copolymer and a rubber composition using the modified conjugated diene-based copolymer suitable for footwear having excellent balance among strength, abrasion-resistant performance, foot comfort, and flexibility.
The modified conjugated diene-based copolymer is provided, which has a silyl group substituted by two or more alkoxy groups and one or more nitrogen atoms at the end of a conjugated diene-based copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound using a polyfunctional anionic initiator prepared using a polyvinyl aromatic compound and lithium, and further, which satisfies the following (I) to (III). (I) The bonding amount of the aromatic vinyl compound is 25-75 mass%. (II) The block bonding amount of the aromatic vinyl compound is 3-50 mass%. And (III) the modification ratio determined by the amount of adsorption to a column of gel permeation chromatography measurement using a silica particle-packed column is 78 mass% or more.
