PURPOSE: To obtain a modified polymer composition which has suitable release and wetting properties and is excellent in heat resistance and laminating characteristics by reacting an olefinic polymer with a specific (meth)acrylate monomer each in a specified amt.

CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. olefinic polymer, pref. a 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (e.g. a 4-methyl-1-pentene/1-decene copolymer), is reacted with 0.01-10 pts.wt. at least one monomer selected from (meth)acrylates of formulae I and II (wherein R is H or CH3; R' is H, alkyl, or acetyl; and m and l are each 0 or higher provided they are not simultaneously 0).
