Abstract:
To provide modified oligonucleotides for telomerase inhibition.SOLUTION: Compounds comprising an oligonucleotide moiety covalently linked to a lipid moiety are disclosed. The oligonucleotide moiety comprises a sequence that is complementary to the RNA component of human telomerase. The compounds inhibit telomerase activity in cells with a high potency and have superior cellular uptake characteristics. This means that an equivalent biological effect may be obtained using smaller amounts of the conjugated oligonucleotide compared to the unmodified form. The compositions and methods of the invention relate to telomerase inhibiting compounds comprising an oligonucleotide and at least one covalently linked lipid group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
