Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: modified pigments having low phosphate release values and good print properties; and dispersions and inkjet ink compositions comprising the modified pigments.SOLUTION: There are provided: modified pigments comprising pigments attached to at least one organic group comprising at least one geminal bisphosphonic acid group -SO2-Q-CH(PO3H2)2, partial esters thereof, or salts thereof; and dispersions and inkjet ink compositions comprising these modified pigments. (Q is O, S, or NR'; and R' is H, a C1-18 alkyl group, a C1-18 acyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkaryl group, or an aryl group.)
