Title:
MODIFIED POLYVINYL CHLORIDE RESIN COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57155212
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by dispersing an alkyl vinyl ether polymer having an alkyl of a specific carbon number inside the porous particles of polyvinyl chloride, thus showing high flowing properties, heat stability, stiffness, shock resistance and heat resistance.

CONSTITUTION: Porous polyvinyl chloride particles (100pts.wt.), preferably obtained by suspension or bulk polymerization of vinyl chloride only or a mixture thereof with other monomers, are impregnated with a mixture composed of 2W 20pts. of an alkyl vinyl ether having an alkyl group of 4W18, preferably 6W18 carbon atoms, such as butyl vinyl ether, when necessary, other polymerizable monomers such as methyl vinyl ether and a polymerization initiator such as sulfur dioxide and the monomers are polymerized to give the objective composition. The resultant composition (100pts.) is combined with an inorganic filler (2W100 pts.) such as calcium carbonate and, when necessary, a heat stabilizer, then subjected to extrusion molding.
