Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a modified protein fiber improved in water repellency or oil repellency, stain-proof property, softness, heat stability, etc., or its fiber product while suppressing the deterioration of the fine structure of the protein fiber in graft polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: A protein fiber or its fiber product is subjected to graft polymerization with a fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate expressed by the formula CH2=C(R) COO(CH2)m(CF2)nX [R is H or CH3; X is H or F; (m) is an integer of 0-4; (n) is an integer of 1-12].
