Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, in producing modified soil with improved strength by mixing a modifying material including a calcium compound with dredged soil and curing a mixture, capable of easily and accurately predicting uniaxial compressive strength to be developed from a mix ratio of the dredged soil to the modifying material.SOLUTION: In a modified soil strength prediction method: two or more types of test modifying materials are prepared. An elution test is conducted with the test modifying materials immersed in seawater and shaken for at least 24 hours to measure pH values of alkaline eluate eluted from respective test modifying materials. Then, a correlation formula, between the pH values and uniaxial compressive strength of the test modified soil obtained by mixing respective test modifying materials with dredged soil as objects to which the modifying materials are added, is obtained and used for predicting the uniaxial strength of modified soil on the basis of the pH value of the alkaline eluate obtained through the elution test of the modifying material actually mixed with the dredged soil.
