Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide absorbable dusting powders suitable for medical applications such as lubricating surgical gloves.
CONSTITUTION: Modified starch dusting powders are free flowing and are characterized by a protein content of less than 15 wt.%, hydroxyl groups oxidized to a level of about 0.5-0.05 wt.% and a degree of crosslinking of other hydroxyl groups characterized by bound phosphorus level of about 200-1,200 ppm.
