PURPOSE: The titled starch glue that is made by mixing starch with a resin emulsion of phenolic resol resin cationized with a thermosetting cationic resin, thus having high water resistance and adhesion and showing high stability on operations and during the storage.
CONSTITUTION: (A) (a) A water-soluble or water-dispersible thermosetting resin resulting from reaction between a polyamide resin having secondary amino group and an epihalohydrin and (b) a cationic phenolic resol resin of 35W45wt% solid content resulting from polycondensation reaction between a phenol and an aldehyde at a molar ratio of 1/(0.5W4.5) in the presence of a water-soluble high polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol using an alkali catalyst such as sodium hydroxide are mixed with (B) starch such as corn starch at a ratio of 0.5W10pts. of A to 100pts. of B by weight to produce the objective starch glue. The amounts of components (a) and (b) are preferably 1W15wt% and 1W10wt% based on the solid part of the component A respectively.
