Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance, inexpensive neutral modifier useful as solidification for enhancing solidification or strength of soft soil or sludge, and a method for solidifying soft soil or sludge using the modifier and a method of a volume reduction treatment of a radioactive substance-containing waste.SOLUTION: There is provided a modifier of soft soil or sludge containing a powder of a silicate mineral with silica content such as hard sand stone of 50 to 80 wt.%, one or more kind of water absorber selected from a polymer water-absorptive polymer and gypsum hemihydrate, and a polymer flocculant if needed, and having blended percentage of the powder of the silicate mineral when the polymer water absorptive polymer and the powder of the silicate mineral are contained of 90 to 98 wt.%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
