Abstract:
To provide a modifier for improving dispersibility of biomass in a resin, by enhancing binding of the resin to the biomass so as to improve compatibility, when incorporating biomass in a thermoplastic resin.
This modifier of a thermoplastic resin containing biomass includes a reaction product obtained by reacting 30-75 wt.% of a styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer, 10-30 wt.% of a linear or branched monovalent alcohol having a boiling point higher by 25°C or more than the glass transition temperature of the styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer and 2-10 wt.% of a metal hydroxide.
