PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer having improved moldability, impact resistance and elongation at break and high rigidity, by melt kneading a specific amount of an organic peroxide with a specific propylene-ethylene block copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: 10ppm or more and less than 50ppm organic peroxide is melt kneaded with (c) a block copolymer, obtained by polymerizing ethylene and then the ethylene and propylene in two stages in the presence of the same catalyst, and consisting of (a) 80W92wt% propylene homopolymer or propylene- ethylene random copolymer with ≤10wt% ethylenic content and (b) 8W20wt% propylene-ethylene random copolymer with 35W60wt% ethylenic content, at 180W250°C for 10sec or longer and within 5min. Preferably, (d) the resultant treated composition has 20W200%, preferably 40W75%, MFI improvement ratio defined by formulaI. The copolymer to be treated has 1.3W7MFI ratio defined by formula II from the standpoint of the impact resistance and appearance of molded articles.
