To facilitate the detaching of an indicator light so as to facilitate its replacement by containing and holding an indicator light in a front portion shield plate which is provide in a housing so as to be attachable and detachable.

In a modular jack 10 which is composed of a housing 12, a front portion cover plate, and a shield or face plate 14, a metal-made face plate 14 acting as a shield is friction-fitted to the wall portion of the housing 12 and is held by up and down, and right and left flanges 40, 46, 42, 44 so as to be detachable against the front wall 26 of the modular jack 10. Light emitting diodes LED 60 are held inner holes 60 provided in brackets 54, 56, 58 of the front face 38 of the face plate 14 so as to be detachable by inserts 61. By constituting the multi-modular jack this way, when the LED replacement is required, the LED can be easily detached and replaced without detaching the whole housing from a mounting board.
