Abstract:
To provide a modular plate fixing system to be used in relation to a modular polyaxial pedicle screw or the like.
The figure of an assembled modular polyaxial pedicle screw understandably illustrates that a cuff 122 screwed on top of a threaded portion 110 of a threaded screw shaft makes a spherical end 116 of a stem 112 locked into a bowl-like socket 108 of a shaft 102. Before the cuff is tightened, the stem 112 can float in the polyaxial direction, which makes a post aligned with other similar polyaxial pedicle screw posts for the most part to receive a plate system.
