PURPOSE: To provide a modular structure of pointer type timepiece equipped with a display panel in which display part of the display panel is set close to the clockface so that the information displayed on the panel sinks deep enough not to be seen.

CONSTITUTION: The lower board 27b of a liquid crystal display panel 27 disposed above a housing 20 fixed with an analog movement 24 is formed larger than an upper board 27a and the lower board 27b is provided with a flange part 27c extending sideways from the upper board 27a. Top surface of the flange part 27c abuts on the bottom surface around a hole 28b for containing a circuit board 28 disposed on the top surface of the housing 20 to connect a panel side connecting terminal 27d on the bottom surface of the flange part 27c directly with a board side connecting terminal 28c on the bottom surface of the circuit board 28 thus connecting them electrically. Furthermore, upper board 27a of the liquid crystal display panel 27 is contained in the board containing hole 28b. This structure brings display part of the liquid crystal display panel 27 close to a clockface 29 disposed on the circuit board 28.
