Abstract:
To adjust a level interval of a modulation light as a multi-value signal without recording a modulation characteristic of a modulator to a memory.SOLUTION: In an optical transmitter 4, a control apparatus 2 of a modulation signal, includes: a high-side signal generation part which generates high-side signals that is set to a level in accordance with a level of an AC component when a polarity of the AC component of an electric signal generated from a modulation light is positive or zero, and it is set to a constant level when the polarity of the AC component is negative; a low-side signal generation part which generates a low-side signal that is set to a constant level when the polarity of the AC component is positive, and is set to a level in accordance with a level of the AC component when the polarity of the AC component is negative or zero; a high-side peak value detection part which generates a signal in a fourth level in accordance with a level that is set by the high-side signal and is the largest absolute value; a low-side peak value detection part which generates a signal of a fifth level in accordance with a level that is set by the low-side signal and is the largest absolute value; and a level adjustment part that adjusts the level of the modulation signal on the basis of the fourth level and the fifth level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
