PURPOSE: To enable a module type hot water heater to deal with a multi-circuit and further to enable a rational back-up to be attained when the heater is in trouble by a method wherein a heater module set and a heat exchanger module set are separately arranged and then they are combined to each other.
CONSTITUTION: This module type hot water heater comprises heater modules 20 having the number of modules corresponding to a required total thermal output and modules 22 corresponding to the required number of circuits. That is, the heater modules 20 and the heat exchanger modules 22 of the number of heat exchanger modules are separately arranged and then the heater modules 20 are combined to each other (to be set) so as to make multi-heater arrangement. In turn, the heat exchanger modules 22 are set such that the required number of heat exchangers corresponding to their applications is arranged. In addition, it is preferable that the heater modules 20 are of atmospheric type. With such an arrangement as above, they may easily be adapted for the multi- circuit and in the case that one heater module 20 is in trouble, its capability is not lost too much and a rational back-up operation can be attained.
