To obtain a moisture absorbing and releasing fiber providing a comfortable sense of wearing even in change of external temperature and before and after an exercise by properly controlling moisture when the moisture in clothing or bedding is largely changed.
The moisture absorbing and releasing fiber has relation represented by formula (A-B)≤1 (%/hour) between a moisture absorbing rate A in the case of the change of relative humidity from 20% to 55% at 20°C and a moisture releasing rate B in the case of the change of relative humidity from 55% to 20% at 20°C. The moisture absorbing and releasing fiber has relation represented by formula (C-D)≥-0.5(%/hour) between a moisture absorbing rate C in the case of the change of relative humidity from 55% to 95% at 20°C and a moisture releasing rate D in the case of the change of relative humidity from 95% to 55% at 20°C.
