Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reflectivity, stress migration resistance, electromigration resistance and corrosion resistance of display electrode parts, by forming metallic reflection electrodes of two-layered films consisting of Ti and Al alloy formed on a lower substrate.
SOLUTION: The Al alloy electrodes 20 and Ti electrodes 21 which are the metallic reflection electrodes are formed on the lower substrate 19 and an SiO2 film 27 is formed on a soda lime glass substrate 28. The same electrode patterns are formed by these two-layered films, by which the metallic reflection electrodes of a mirror finished surface reflection type consisting of the two- layered films are formed. The substrate formed with the SiO2 film on the soda lime glass substrate is used for an upper substrate 13 and transparent electrodes 16 are formed by indium tin oxide. Further, alignment layers 14, 15 are formed on the electrodes formed on the upper substrate 13 and the lower substrate 19. A printed circuit board 26 mounted with electronic parts and a TAB tape carrier 24 mounted with LSI chips are used as the electronic parts for driving liquid crystal cells. The printed circuit board 26 and the TAB tape carrier 24 are connected.
