Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a moisture permeability and a gas permeability of a protection film or the like with higher accuracy in a shorter time compared with hitherto, and to reduce system cost.
SOLUTION: A test piece S is sandwiched between an atmospheric chamber 11a and a vacuum chamber 12a, and the atmospheric chamber 11a and the vacuum chamber 12a are sealed from the outside air. The atmospheric chamber 11a, the vacuum chamber 12a and the inside of a test gas introduction system 2 are put into the ultrahigh vacuum state by a high vacuum evacuation system 3 and ultrahigh vacuum evacuation systems 4, 5. Steam is generated by the test gas introduction system 2 and a water tank 2, and the steam is introduced from a conduit a into the atmospheric chamber 11a. Evacuation is continued by the ultrahigh vacuum evacuation system 4. A pressure is measured by an ultrahigh vacuum gage. When the pressure inside the vacuum chamber 12a at the steam introduction time reaches a steady state, the pressure difference with a pressure at the steady state time before steam introduction is determined. The pressure difference is converted into the moisture permeability.
