Title:
MOLD FLUX FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013144311
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To improve the crystallization speed of a flux film to attain stable slow cooling in a mold.
The mold flux is used for continuous casting of high-temperature molten metal. When the mold flux is cooled after it is melted once, the mold flux contains main crystal to be crystallized or precipitated mainly during cooling, and a pre-melt material containing 50 mass% or more of the main crystal by composition ratio is included by 1 mass% or more therein to improve the crystallization speed. The crystal easily grows up by using a crystal structure held even in a melting state as a nucleus, so that crystallization speed can be improved even in the mold flux with high viscosity and cooling in a mold can be stabilized.
