To provide a mold for manufacturing a cast wheel which has high-accuracy weight balance and uniform wall thickness and can prevent the cavity resonance sound generated in the air chamber, and a casting method using the same.
A core 5 consists of a hollow part providing piece 51 directly representing a hollow part 13 and a toric support 55 integrally supporting the hollow part providing piece 51 at periphery. The core 5 of the mold is accurately set, and high-accuracy molding is achieved. More specifically, the hollow part providing piece 51 can be surely hold at predetermined position by the support 55, thereby a cast wheel 1 having high-accuracy weight balance and uniform wall thickness can be produced. It is possible for the cast wheel 1 to prevent the cavity resonance sound generated in the air chamber 15 by a hollow part 13 formed at a spoke part 12.
