To provide a mold for a press brake excellent in abrasion resistance, and stably usable over a long period without being affected by strain caused by heat treatment in manufacture, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.
Full hard metallic films 2b, 3b containing nickel as a main component and containing phosphorus, boron or silicon carbide as a minor component are plated and coated on the surface of base metals 2a, 2b, and thereafter subjected to heat treatment in the range of 200-300°C, more preferably 200-250°C, to thereby obtain a punch 2 and a die 3 as a desired mold for a press brake, respectively. The mold 1 for a press brake not having thermal strain and bearable to long term use can be obtained from the punch 2 and the die 3 obtained in this way.
