Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress the cooling of a molten metal, to improve run and to obtain a casting having good quality by suspending mold release agent particles consisting of a porous synthetic silicic acid compd. having a specific surface area into water contg. a dispersant.
CONSTITUTION: This mold release agent for metal mold casting is prepd. by using the synthetic silicic acid compd. particles which are porous and have ≥40m2/g specific surface area as the mold release agent particles to be suspended into the water contg. the dispersant. The synthetic silicic acid compd. is the porous particles and, therefore, exhibits an excellent heat insulating characteristic by the gaps finely dispersed in a coating film when a coating film is formed. As a result, the cooling the the molten metal is suppressed and, therefore, the run property is improved. Since the synthetic silicic acid compd. is a white material, the compd. does not degrade the working environment.
