Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a molded optical article which has excellent heat and moisture resistances; a low birefringence, and a high surface accuracy and is free from the coloration and scorch during molding.
CONSTITUTION: This molded optical article is produced on an injection molding machine by injecting a thermoplastic norbornene resin into a metal mold preheated above the glass transition point of the resin, closing the port to inject the resin into the mold, and slowly cooling the mold to below the glass transition point.
