To provide a molded product of porous hydrogel which has a good volume restoration property when dipped in water after storage in a reduced volume by compression, drying and the like.SOLUTION: Provided is a molded product of a porous hydrogel comprising polyvinyl alcohol acetalized with a monoaldehyde or a dialdehyde, where the degree of acetalization when acetalized with a monoaldehyde is 15-80 mol% or the degree of acetalization when acetalized with a dialdehyde is 0.1-15 mol%, the polyvinyl alcohol includes a monomer unit containing a carboxylic acid salt with the content of the monomer unit being 1-7 mol%, and the molded product (A) has continuous pores with a specific surface area of 2-15 m2/g.SELECTED DRAWING: None
