Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material showing a superior sliding characteristic that can be used for a hydraulic pump and the like, a material effective for reducing air resistance that can be applied for a beginning vehicle of a high-speed railway, and a process of manufacture of these materials.SOLUTION: It is possible to reduce a friction coefficient and to reduce air resistance by applying a molded body 11 formed by molding structures 11a of a periodic structure, to a surface or a side surface or both surfaces. The periodic structure has a feature that structures having the same shape are molded in the same direction, or two or more structures having different shapes are combined to form one set and molded at a period of equal intervals in the same direction. In addition, not only a surface roughness of either a surface [upper surface] or a bottom surface of the structure but also a surface roughness of both the upper surface part and bottom surface part thereof show smoothness of 10 nm or less to improve reliability in respect to sliding characteristic.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
