Abstract:

To obtain a fuel cell separator of high quality and high productivity with less deformation, warpage, and cracking at the time of product removal from a die by making equal the density balance between a gas flow channel groove part area and a surrounding part area on the surface of the separator.

When a powder-like material is filled in a cavity 50 formed between upper and lower dies 41 and 21 divided into upper and lower inner dies 42 and 22 corresponding to a flow channel groove part 2 and upper and lower outer dies 45 and 25 corresponding to surrounding parts 4, the (upper) lower inner dies (42), 22 is positioned at a prescribed height (below) above the (upper) lower outer die (45), 25 so that a compression ratio of the flow channel groove part 2 is equal to that of the surrounding part 4. After the compression molding is completed, the upper and lower outer dies 45 and 25 are projected from the upper and lower inner dies 42 and 22 so that the flow channel groove part 2 can be released in precedence to the surrounding parts 4 on both the front and rear surfaces when the die is opened for taking out a molded product.
