Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a copolyamide as a molding material which is suitable for frames for glasses and the like by polycondensing terephthalic acid and/or isophthalic acid with a specified amt. of plurality of diamines.
CONSTITUTION: Terephthalic acid and/or isophthalic acid is copolymerized with 10 to 70 mol.% decamethylenediamine, 10 to 80 mol.% trimethylhexamethylenediamine, and 10 to 50 mol.% bis(4-aminocyclohexyl)- methane to obtain the contemplated copolyamide having a relative soln. viscosity of 1.4 to 2.1 and a glass transition temp. of 120 to 180°C.
