To provide a recovering method of uranium from a uranium-iron alloy with a simple dry process and a molten salt electrolytic cell used for this method.
A molten salt electrolytic cell is constituted of a basket like cathode 14 housing a material being electrolyzed, a rotating anode 12 provided with a scraping device 24 and arranged opposite to the cathode, and a tray 22 arranged so as to receive an electrodeposited material scraped off downward below the rotating anode. A method separating and recovering uranium from a uranium-iron alloy consists of using a supporting salt of a low m.p. group such as KCl-LiCl as the supporting salt, charging a concd. uranium-iron nugget in the anode, electrodepositing uranium as metallic uranium on the rotating cathode together with anode-melting the nugget, removing by scraping off an obtained electrodeposite, and separating and removing iron as an anode slime.
