To provide a molten iron tapping method for an arc furnace to eliminate a sand charging work, to shorten a power stop time from tapping a molten metal to a next charge, as much as possible, and to prevent leakage of a molten and the occurrence of closure at a tap hole due to slag.
By using arc furnace molten iron output equipment 20 provided with a molten iron tapping port 12 formed in the eccentric position of a furnace bottom 5 of an arc furnace and a stopper 13 to open and close the upper of the molten iron output port 12, by adjustment of the inclining angle of the furnace, slug 9 to overlie molten iron 8 is prevented from making contact with a spotting part 14 between the molten iron tapping port 12 and the stopper 13. With the molten iron tapping port 12 closed by the stopper 13, a cold iron source is melted. At a point of time when a given amount of molten iron is generated, the stopper 13 is raised, the molten iron tapping port 12 is opened, and molten iron is tapped. Before the slag 9 on the molten iron 8 reaches the spotting part 14, the stopper 13 is lowered to close the molten iron tapping port 12.
