Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal feed device capable of properly feeding a molten metal to a casting apparatus with a simple structure and further capable of easily performing maintenance.SOLUTION: Provided is a molten metal feed device 1 feeding a molten metal to a casting apparatus 3, comprising: furnace equipment 2 heating and melting a metallic material; a transfer tube 4 transferring the molten metal from the furnace equipment 2 to the casting apparatus 3; a pressure feed mechanism composed of a molten metal feed pump 5 pressure-feeding the molten metal in the furnace equipment 2 to the transfer tube 4; and a check valve 25 provided at the outlet part of the transfer tube 4. The check valve 25 includes: a valve case in which an introduction port communicated with the tip of the transfer tube 4 is formed at a bottom wall part; and a spherical valve body stored in the valve case and clogging the introduction port by dead weight upon the operation stop of the pressure feed mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
