To provide a molten-metal filtration apparatus which can prevent the breakage of filtration tubes and the leakage of molten metal.
In a molten-metal filtration apparatus 10, one or a plurality of porous-ceramic filtration tubes 41, each of which has an opening 43 on one end and the other end that is closed, are disposed inside a can-body part 20 for retaining molten metal so that the longitudinal direction of the filtration tubes 41 is oriented in a direction intersecting a horizontal plane. The filtration tubes 41 are attached to a support plate 42, at least one end of each of the filtration tubes 41, so that the longitudinal direction of the filtration tubes 41 is substantially perpendicular to a plate surface of the support plate 42. Thereby, a filtration unit 40 is formed, and the filtration unit 40 is disposed inside the can-body part 20 so that the plate surface of the support plate 42 is substantially coplanar with the horizontal plane.
